Richard co-founded the voluntary campaign group Don’t Waste Buildings, alongside Leanne Tritton and Will Hurst, in December 2022, and it now has over 2,500 members. In addition to overall strategy and management of the organisation, Richard was co-lead author, along with Matt Bullivant, of The Reuse Dividend, the group’s groundbreaking report examining how financial incentives for retrofit have stimulated economic growth internationally and recommendations for the UK government. In addition to DWB, Richard is founder and MD of his own management consultancy, Abyss Global, where he advises architects and built environment companies on international growth and development. He also serves as Ambassador and Past Chair of the Institute of Directors Property and Built Environment Group, Property & Construction Ambassador for the charity Breast Cancer Now, and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
